Granville is kicking off the holiday season with a brand-new tradition, a community Tree Lighting and Illumination Procession that fills the Village with light, music, and togetherness.
We’ll gather in the Annex of the United Church of Granville for hot chocolate, cookies, and electric candles before stepping into the evening for a magical walk through town. Thanks to the generous support of Roof Ohio, we’ll brighten the route even more this year with additional lighting as we illuminate the Village Christmas Tree, street trees, and several landmark buildings before ending at the Robbins Hunter Museum for holiday music and festive cheer.

Featuring Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night
Our procession will come alive with Unsilent Night, a participatory soundscape by composer Phil Kline. As we walk, everyone plays one of the musical tracks from their phone, creating a shimmering blend of bells, chimes, and harmonies that moves with us through the Village.

How to participate:

2. Bring your phone or portable speaker if you have one.

3. We’ll all press play together at the start of the procession.
No musical experience needed! Just show up and let the sound surround you.

Event Timeline

• 5:30–6:00 PM – Gather, enjoy cocoa & cookies, receive candles
• 6:00 PM – Remarks & Village Tree lighting
• 6:15–6:30 PM – Procession through town with Unsilent Night, illuminating trees & landmarks
• 6:30 PM – Arrive at the Robbins Hunter Museum for concluding remarks, holiday music and cheer.
