Victorian Teas at the Robbins Hunter Museum

      Join us for tea in the elegant Robbins Hunter Museum.  Each month, we offer Victorian-inspired teas with a sampling of savories and sweets reminiscent of the 19th century.  The menu for each tea is different, but always consists of three courses accompanied by delicious blends of tea.  Each tea will feature a brief entertainment/educational program appropriate to the season or to an item in the collection of the Robbins Hunter Museum.  Reservations required.  Send your check for $15 per person/$13 per member to Robbins Hunter Museum, PO Box 183, Granville, OH 43023. Seating is limited!

May 16-November 8:  Art for War's Sake (Posters from World Wars I & II)


LECTURE SERIES will examine the poster exhibit both historically and artistically and present a range of historical issues. To be held Wednesdays, 7:30PM at Robbins Hunter Museum, unless otherwise noted.

September 10: THE ART OF THE POSTER, Richard Aschenbrand, MS, Columbus College of Art and Design, Dean of Visual Communications

October 8: A DENISONIAN AT WAR:  WILLIAM JORDAN CURRIN '13 & THE GREAT WAR, Catherine Dollard, PhD, Denison Associate Professor of History

October 15:  HOWARD ARTHUR TIBBS:  TUSKEGEE AIRMAN, as told by his son, Phillip Tibbs


FAMILY FUN IN THE POSTER EXHIBITION  with Jennifer Miller, Saturdays, May 17 (Armed Forces Day), June 14 (Flag Day), July 5, August 9,  1-3PM.  School-age children, accompanied by an adult, are invited to visit the galleries of "Art for War's Sake:  Posters and the Granville Experience" at the Robbins Hunter Museum.  Play history detective and join in a special activity planned for each event.  FREE.  No registration required.

The Avery Downer House holds special programs a number of times during the year, including special displays of nineteenth century decorative arts, exhibits of the house's extended collection, etc.

The House and gardens are also available for weddings, receptions, meetings, and other special events. Please contact the museum for more information.
